Join ParaTeknics for a 6 day, full immersion course into the world of parachute rigging

Rigger A

  • Prerequisites

    Current CSPA affiliation as a Registered Participant

    B CoP or higher

    10 pre-course reserve packs, to be done with ParaTeknics

  • Qulifies you to.

    Inspect and pack sport reserve parachutes

    Remove and replace component parts of the parachute

    Make minor hand repairs to sport parachuting equipment

    Train and sign off main packing endorsement

  • Practical.

    Inspect and repack, under direct supervision, 10 ram-air reserve parachutes, of various manufactures and methods, prior to being issued a rating (Post Course)

    Complete assigned, practical tasks on course, requiring minimum performance level of 90%

    Score at least 80%, corrected to 100% on the written open book test.

  • Whats in the course

    The Rigger A program is the first level of rigger in CSPA’s rigger program. In this 6 day course Learning will be spread between theory, packing and basic repairs.

    In class time will be spent learning about material commonly used in parachute manufacture. Parts and detailed explanations of components of the three main parts of any sport parachute, container, main parachute and reserve parachute.

    Ample time will be provided to generate the skills and techniques of Inspections and the actual reserve packing. Direct supervision, one on one and group coaching will make learning to pack the reserve a pleasurable experience.

    Through the course you will learn what maintenance items fall under the Rigger A rating and how to preform the work correctly.
